The traditional grackle noseband has been used over the years for horses that tend to “cross their jaw” and try to escape the contact. However, it also helps with horses who open their mouths to evade the bit (whilst avoiding the use of a flash). Grackles also keep clear of the bit and encourage a closed quiet mouth.
